Top Ten Athletes of 2011
1. ••••• Nelson Agholor, 6-2, 180, 4.5, Tampa Berkeley Prep (FL)
The #1 athlete in the state of Florida and one of the nation’s finest prospects.
On Film–On defense #3 shows terrific instincts, quick reactions, reads quarterbacks well, shows superior quickness, can turn his hips, and has the height, leaping ability, and smooth backpedal to dominate receivers. On the other side of the ball he’s a sure handed receiver with all the way kind of speed, and he uses his balance, instincts, and agility that he uses on the defensive side of the ball and puts it to good use at the WR position. He has proven to be a strong, consistent tackler who is an excellent return man with great hands and tremendous ball skills. I can’t say enough good things about Nelson, he seems to do everything smoothly and effortlessly. He should be an instant impact player as a true freshman.
Stats–On offense he totaled 1,440 yds at both RB and WR. On defense he picked off 3 passes, broke up 14 others, and also returned 4 kickoffs and punts back for scores.
Other Sports–Averages 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists a game as a guard in basketball.
Grades–His GPA is 3.0.

2. ••••• DaVonte Neal, 5-10, 180, 4.4, Scottsdale Chaparral (AZ)
The most excited ball player in the state of Arizona and one of the country’s top WR prospects.
On Film–DaVonte is a receiver who must be double-teamed at all times. He comes off the ball quickly with speed and strength, gets in and out of his cuts quickly, catches the ball, and then turns up field in a flash. He always takes what the defense gives him, can catch the ball at its highest points, and once he has secured the ball that’s when the fun starts. He can out run almost every back he goes up against and shows excellent open field moves.
Stats–Caught 38 passes for 950 yds and 11 TDs averaging over 25 yds per catch. Also carried the ball 50 times for 620 yds and 12 TDs. On defense he totaled 25 tackles, picked off 6 passes returning 2 of them back for scores, and as a testimony to his brilliant speed and moves he returned 4 punts and 1 kickoff back for TDs. Right now he ranks among the top 2 or 3 kick and punt returners in the nation. Earned 1st Team All-State honors as an all-purpose back.
Other Sports–Has been timed in a 10.7 100, a 21.7 200 meters, and long jumped 21′ 10″ in track.

Favorite Schools–He’s been offered by just about everyone and that includes USC, ASU, PENN STATE, NOTRE DAME, NORTHWESTERN, LSU, MIAMI, NC ST, UCLA, WA, CAL, BC, AUBURN, AR, and IL.
3. ••••• Stefon Diggs, 6-0, 185, 4.4, Olney Good Council (MD)
One of the premier athletes in the nation, he’s a five-star ball player who can do it all at WR or FS. He’s one of those athletes with the rare combination of body control, burst, and instincts.
On Film–I watched him as a WR down in San Antonio and he was consistently able to slip the jam and separate with ease. Very sudden, he can create after the catch, and runs precise routes. Not an overly physical ball player but is able to fight through contact after the catch. Exceptional with the ball in his hands, he’s a high school superstar be it running with the ball, catching the ball, or picking off a pass. He seems to do everything with ease and is a natural, all around athlete. The #1 prospect in the Atlantic Coast region.
Stats–Earned All-State honors after catching 43 passes for 811 yds and 15 TDs, and also rushed for 506 yds and 6 scores. On defense he returned 2 of his 5 picks back for TDs and broke up 16 other passes helping lead the Falcons to the WCAC championship.
Grades–His GPA is over a 2.0.
Favorite Schools–Stefon has been offered by most of the country’s powerhouses and that list includes MI, OH ST, USC, PENN ST, AL, CAL, AUBURN, FL, GA, FSU, IOWA, CLEM, MD, MIAMI, and VA TECH.
4. ••••+ Devin Fuller, 6-0, 190, 4.4, Old Tappan (NJ)
The #1 athlete in the state of New Jersey plays QB in high school and will probably wind up playing RB, WR, or CB in college.
On Film–He’s an immensely talented and quick footed athlete who dominated every game he played in during the 2010 season. He shows a very good arm, superior athletic ability, is an elusive scrambler, and a dynamic runner once he decides to tuck and run. If he decides to remain at QB, he has what it takes to make a difference at that position in college. Perfectly suited for the spread offense, he can improvise as well as any QB in the country. One of the more creative offensive players who is extremely dangerous when flushed out of the pocket. He can pick you apart when throwing the ball on the run. It’s that kind of speed, elusiveness, and burst that the college scouts are enamored with. Whatever position he winds up playing, one thing is for certain he will make an impact at that position.
Stats–Threw for 1,900 yds and 20 TDs and ran for 2,306 yds and 32 scores on his way to earning 1st Team All-State honors.
Other Sports–Has been timed in a 10.7 100 and a 22.2 200 meters in track. His father, Bart Fuller, played FS at TCU.
Grades–His GPA is 2.9.
Favorite Schools–TCU, PENN ST, AL, FSU, UCLA, MI, NOTRE DAME, RUTGERS, IOWA, and OH ST.
5. ••••• Ronald Darby, 5-11, 180, 4.31, Oxon Hill Potomac (MD)
He just might be the fastest player in the country and a ball player who shows All-American skills at RB, WB, and CB. I guess you can also throw in kick returner.
On Film–He’s a blue dart and a blazer on offense who has to be accounted for on every single play. At RB he shows tremendous speed, vision, agility, balance, and surprising strength. More of a slasher, he’s an all-purpose back who can run, catch, and when called upon block. When watching Ron on film he shows that he has the innate ability to never take a direct hit. He accelerates to full speed quickly, can cut on a dime, and can change directions in the blink of an eye. Explosive should be his middle name. As good as he is on offense he may be even better at CB. Here’s an athlete who is very smooth in transition, can turn his hips, and is an exceptional pass defender. Obviously he can turn and run with anyone, plays the game with a lot of confidence, reads offenses well, and reacts quickly. He breaks and closes on the ball as well as any CB in the Atlantic Coast region. A high school superstar, he should make an impact as a true freshman in college.
Stats–Recorded 47 stops, picked off 3 passes returning 2 of them back for scores of 65 and 98 yds, and batted down 9 others. On offense he rushed for 1,058 yds and 9 TDs on 142 carries. To top everything off he returned 5 kickoffs back for scores.
Other Sports–He’s an All-American in track where he’s been timed in a 10.5 100. He ranks #1 nationally in the 200 meters with a best of 21.2. He finished 2nd nationally in the 55 meters and 5th in the 60 meters. As of this spring he was second in the world in his age group in the 200 meters.
Grades–His GPA is 3.1 and he scored a 17 on the ACT. Benches 250 and has a 37″ VJ.
Favorite Schools–Committed to NOTRE DAME.
6. ••••+ Brian Kimbrow, 5-9, 165, 4.3, Memphis East (TN)
Without a doubt one of the nation’s most exciting football players.
On Film–#3 catches your attention immediately with his speed and creative moves in the open field. He’s small, compact, and blazing fast. He can play RB, WB, WR, or CB in college and also proved to be a devastating kick and punt returner. He shows exceptional run instincts, vision, and balance. A productive high school runner inside, he may not be able to stand the pounding in college. He shows great peripheral vision, can change directions in the blink of an eye, and is awfully tough to bring down in the open field. A Chris Johnson clone.
Stats–Carried the ball 190 times for 1,651 yds and 19 TDs. He totaled 10 solo tackles and picked off 2 passes at CB. Also returned 3 kickoffs and 2 punts back for scores.
Other Sports–He’s been timed in a 10.5 100 meters in track.
Grades–His GPA is 2.6. Has a 37″ VJ.
Favorite Schools–Committed to VANDY.
7. ••••+ Joel Caleb, 6-3, 205, 4.55, Midlothian Clover Hill (VA)
The #1 prospect in the Richmond area and one of the nation’s premier all around athletes.
On Film–Joel impresses you at both the QB and the FS positions. On offense he certainly shows the skills to remain at the position, is deadly while throwing the ball on the run, and shows a big-time arm, smarts, and foot speed. However, he is such a talented FS that the college scouts are clamoring for his services at that position. When I met with Joel back in the winter he told me that he would prefer to play the slot but will do what’s best for the team he eventually signs with. On defense he’s a versatile and aggressive FS with loose hips and he always seems to find the ball. He shows tremendous range, reads well, and has the instincts to anticipate most plays. On offense his coach says every time he touches the ball there’s a chance he could take it the distance. An unselfish player who is a team leader, and he shows great character both on and off the field. His brother Brandon Caleb was a WR at Oklahoma.
Stats–Completed 92 of 165 passes for 1,452 yds and 20 TDs while also rushing for 785 yds and 11 scores. He totaled 2,156 yds and 28 TDs. On defense he totaled 26 solo tackles, 2 picks returning 1 back for a score, and batted down 5 other passes. Earned 1st Team All-Metro honors at FS.
Grades–His GPA is 2.8. Benches 185 pounds 14 times.
Favorite Schools–VA, VA TECH, OK, AL, FL, GA, FSU, NOTRE DAME, OH ST, PENN ST, TN, and NC.
8. ••••+ D.J. Foster, 6-0, 185, 4.5, Scottsdale Saguaro (AZ)
One of the top four prospects in the state, I’ve watched D.J. over the past couple of years and have come away impressed with his overall skills.
On Film–#8 led the Sabercats at the RB, WR, and CB positions. He is a lockdown corner who is very comfortable playing against the other team’s fastest receiver, and he’s very confident with a smooth backpedal and he can turn and run with the best of them. One of the nation’s premier cover corners, he also showed great hands, burst, and displayed outstanding moves in the open field at WR. To top it off D.J. is considered to be one of the West’s top punt and kickoff returners. He shows the ability to become an All-American on either side of the ball.
Stats–Rushed for 1,500 yds and 29 TDs averaging 11 yds per carry. He also caught 40 passes for 770 yds, and then totaled 65 tackles picking off 8 passes returning 1 of them back for a score at CB. D.J. also returned 2 kickoffs and 1 punt back for scores on his way to earning 1st Team class 4A All-State honors.
Grades–His GPA is 3.0.
Favorite Schools–You name it, he’s heard from them and is looking at ASU, AZ, PENN ST, STANFORD, USC, AR, UCLA, AUBURN, MI, NOTRE DAME, NE, OR, CO, CAL, and WA.
9. ••••+ Cyrus Jones, 5-11, 190, 4.47, Baltimore Gilman (MD)
The more I watch this young man the more I like him.
On Film–He shows remarkable vision, quickness, shiftiness, and breakaway speed. A big play receiver who seems to possess all the tools for future stardom. He’s remarkable in the open field and once he latches onto the ball, look out. He turns up field quickly and shows good moves and superior speed. Quick as a cat, he can get in and out of his breaks like no one’s business, he dominates most games, and must be double teamed at all times. An impact player at the prep level, he should do the same in college. When you add his work ethic to his God-given talents you can see why I’m so high on him.
Stats–Totaled 1,240 all-purpose yards to go with 9 TDs running, receiving, and returning kicks. On defense he totaled 46 tackles, picked off 5 passes, and broke up 13 others leading the Greyhounds on both sides of the ball.
Other Sports–In basketball he’s one of the state’s top shooting guards averaging 23 points and 6 rebounds a game.
Grades–His GPA is 3.1. Benches 235 and has a 34″ VJ.
Favorite Schools–Like Stefon Diggs, Cyrus has been offered by just about everyone in the country including PENN ST, OH ST, AL, NOTRE DAME, FL, IOWA, MD, MIAMI, MI, STANFORD, OR, TN, UCLA, VA, WI, and AUBURN.
10. ••••+ Ricktavious Parks, 6-4, 225, 4.6, Hogansville-Callaway (GA)
One of the nation’s premier athletes, in 2010 Ricky played QB and played the position very well.
On Film–I was impressed with his throwing motion, ability to run with the ball, and the ability to make things happen. Best suited to play either TE or OLB in college, he’s a remarkably gifted athlete with strong hands. He runs much tougher than you would expect a QB to run, always gives good effort, shows good body control, and when he did see limited action at TE he proved to be an outstanding blocker. This young man can do it all. A five-star player in waiting, I would not be surprised to find him as a #1 draft choice four years down the road.
Stats–Threw for over 1,700 yds and 25 TDs and was picked off 9 times at QB in 2010.
Other Sports–Averages 14 points and 12 rebounds a game as a FW in basketball.
Grades–His GPA is 3.2. Benches 265.
Favorite Schools–Committed to AUBURN.
